Huh?

Ok so I 4 tabled some 2/4 tonight on AP shhhhhhhhh! The games are fucking amazing! Played 22/18/2 tonight and ran superb. I dont know though? Its like i feel like I have plateud again. Its weird I feel I am playing some solid poker but know that I have so much room for improvment. Playing deep rattles me a little which is stupid.

Take this hand for instance. This is against a 23/16/3 8 tabling reg who calls 3bets alot. Initially I think ok I have to get it in preflop 150BB whatever. We had been going at it in chat as well. then he flats and I decide to check back the flop, wtf? I think this is pretty stupid in retro but maybe that is results oriented. I would be sick if he c/r but this guy does play super straightforward for the most part. On the turn its time to bet obviously. River? I beat a bluff and JJ makes no sense though. Looks like value imo.

This hand I love the results but am unsure of the play. Looks standard? Both players had super donk numbers. Should I be raising the flop or turn here?

Poker, poker, poker!!!

Woooooooooot! I love this game! Ok sorry been running decent made another BI today over 500+ hands on FTP. The games are soft, I dont care what people say. Did run QQ into KK in a spot I am still debating wether or not I can play differently. Honestly though just played super solid and encountered little resistance running 21/18/7. I have been thinking about a post jason made awhile back about just playing real solid. Its funny as most the time you see pros mention a reg in a vid they say how he just plays solid and doesnt get out of line too much, I think this is so key. With improved hand reading we can pick better spots to bluff and for the most part stick to real fucking solid poker playing. Of course as you improve I think opening up will just be a nataural occurence rather then something you should force. For me everytime I tryed to force myself to open up I got punished. Over time though as my skills have improved I have went from 17/12/3 to 20/17/4 at 200NL in my current database. Quite the change. To be honest though I think numbers are overemphasized sometimes. mainly the best approach is adjusting to game flow which is something I will continue to try and improve. Anything more then 4 tables and I think you will struggle big time to do so.

More poker

Grinded a session at 1/2 on FT which was very bland till I flopped a boat and got payed and got it in with AK vs KQ on a Khigh flop and held. Did another 499 hands and made just under 2 BIs. There is a player who is very intriguing to me on FTP. His handle is Tuftslife and he runs at 31/27/6 over like 1500 hands and he 6-8 tables. The guy is crushing too, he is always deep on several tables. His position stats are hilarious as he is like 14% vpip UTG and then 30+ everywhere else. I will definately be keeping an eye on him. Anyways no real intersting spots.

NITTTY

Just played a session at my old stats of 17/12/3 on AP 2/4 and made near 4BIs. LOL. I cant explain it except the fact that all the guys on my right were 3 bet happy and all the donks were maniacs who raised pre alot. Stacked 2 regs and then a semi-reg who seemed real fishy. Also picked up several smaller pots off the donks. Overall I played 2 sessions at 2/4 today for a total of 691 hands and $1030 profit which felt nice after dropping 1.5 BIs to start when i played a 1 hour session before class. I will be keeping this blog updated super regularly and will try and throw some interesting HHs in now and again. Played a real strange 200BB deep 4bet pot today. Villain is 21/18/3 and has no positional awarness meaning he raises the same percent of hands everywhere. This is something I will have to think about actually. Anyways my question is do you bet the turn and why? He had 4bet once before to the same price in the same spot but I was 100BB deep then. I felt sick when he 4bet but I cant fold. I t5hink the flop is an easy check my question is on the turn.

It aint a grind, its what I enjoy.

Seriously, I took up poker because I love the game, the day that isnt the case I need to find something else to do. Yesterday I was playing to play not for enjoyment. The whole challenge had me in a strange state of mind. I will continue the challenge but in no way will I allow it to effect why I am playing. I need to remember to focus, enjoy and destroy. Had a decent session today ended up a little under two buy ins even though I lost two stacks to coolers. Set vs set on a A57cc board and AK vs KQ in a 3bet pot on a KQ7x board. Been playing very loose for my standards and it is starting to feel comfortable. Played around 25/22/5 today. 4bet shoves are happening alot though which is nuts. One guy 4bet shove against my 1st 3bet which was sick. Then I get this dude all set up and he calls my 3bet OOP with KQo and i lose on that KQ7x board I spoke of.

I have tryed to recapture the momentum I had at the end of Jan which i felt came from some serious focus on improvment and hand reading. I have been trying to take intensive notes and utilize them to formulate reads. I just was watching Bobbos 1st vid on leggo and he said something which I really liked. " There is ABC poker where you make the correct decision in a vacuum and then there is perfect poker. This is when you make the perfect decision based on ABC poker+reads."

This struck me as something that is most likely separating the greats from the grinders.

Its coming back to me.

Played a 90 minute session on FTP playing 3-4 tables at a time. For the challenge the max tables will be 4 and I will try and focus on 3 tabling mostly. Anyways the deck has been cold and I have managed to start off down 4 BIs on the month but I aint tripping. My biggest goal besides the 40K hands this month is to lose all attachment to the monetary value of the chips in front of me. Or rather all emotional attachment period. I want to focus on making the best play in the moment. I did another 501 hands bringing my total to 1352, if I average this many hands per day that would put me over the edge for my goal. Hopefully I will play alot on the weekends as that is when the games are sick good. Back to my rant about losing feeling. When I get donked into or check raised I can be like fuck. And I truly think about it in an emotional sense. I take it personally almost instead of utilizing it for exactly what it is, information.

I feel strange.

Hadnt played in several days it felt like and poker felt weird. I tryed to play pretty LAG and it seemed like I was getting played at a bit. Maybe the FTP regs are starting to recognize me now. I played well but lost 2 stacks in real strange spots.

This was my 1st session of thwe challenge as well. Dropped 3 BIs but who cares. I am a winner and as long as I can get 40K hands in this month the results will be there. 851 hands to date.

Hand 1-The BTN is a 21/16/3 What is he repping? Only two hands I can be behind here are AK and 44. How does AK not 3bet preflop and if he has quads GG. I keep thinking over this hand and my real question is my preflop call, should I fold?

Hand 2- Looking back I am unsure of what to think of my play. Villain is 44/10/2. He never has a 8 here imo and I could get a hero call from worse. Is this plus EV? I am unsure. It was sick because I knew he could call with a better K but I opted to shove.
