I am down because I am downswinging.

Its been some time since I had a major downswing. To be quite fucking honest I think downswings are bullshit. There will always be spots where you could have maximized value, not bluffed, or found a fold which would have made you money. It is quite sick when all you want is to succeed at something yet you continue to fail(have losing sessions). I am not ashamed to admit I am not playing my best obviously and will be dropping down to 1/2 for 10K hands to regain my confidence. One positive thing to take away from this little dip in my graph is just that, its just a dip.

Poker is a sick game.

I am not using sick as a slang for cool either. Poker can be more of an emotional roller coaster then a relationship. Poker can drive a person insane, specifically me. I have no clue what is happening right now. I am on this stupid dry spell at the tables as of 2 or 3 nights ago. Its quite interesting too. I decide poker is going to be my career and what happens, every fucking thing goes to hell. I had a 23k BR at the start of the week which is now 18.5k though I did ship 1k to AE so its only 10 BI's. I know there is some spew too and that drives me mad. I need to desperately plug these leaks and get my game back on track. 2/4 is insanity sometimes and to be quite fucking honest the games suck donkey cock on weekend nights. Its like 5 regs to 1 fish. Also the regs are just dicks sometimes. Whatever, enough bitching. I will own their souls.

On a happy note I think I have my tilt insanely under control. I have developed a real bad habit lately though and that is checking results mid-session. I will never and I mean never do it again.

Two sick hands and an update.

April was awesome for me poker wise and May has been slow. I had to wrap up college and decided to not play while I did so. I have managed to log a few nice winning sessions but only played maybe 15 hours this month. That being said summer is here so no more classes. It is looking like this will be a perminent summer too. AEJONES experience has been great for my game as well and I look forward to grinding again so i can really start to put alot of his theory into use. Hopefully i will begin to update here a little more and look for some theory posts in the near future. Here are two river bluffs shoves i ran. The 1st was vs the infamous BertKC whom is also a part of the AE thing thus he read my soul based on what we have learned from AE. Sick fucking props on the call. 2nd hand was vs an aggro TAG who i knew could be c/r light. Thing is if i do get it in on the flop I am 100% behind even to a high card imo. Icheck the turn because if I get double c/r I believe I will be commited. By the river is hand looks like air or a very marginal made hand which cant stand much heat. He hollywooded for a sec to save face and then pitched.

I looked...

and I like what I saw. Ship the 5BB/100 at 2/4 only over a 13K hand sample but I think I have alot of room for improvment at the moment which is pretty fucking awesome if you ask me. I am 4 lifetime over 34k so that nots to shabby. My BB/100 is higher on FTP then AP which is pretty dam lol. Speaking of lol I will reveal my most deadly weapon in my arsenal. If you say lol outloud it sounds like lull thus I call it loling them to sleep.

Villain is a standard 21/18/3 aggro reg. The key to this hand is that I typed lol mid way through his timebank at which point he insta jammed. Best of all Dodgy was watching this session and told me not to type anything. After I did and the hands were revealed he nearly died from laughter.

I just had to open my mouth.

Was trying to post a graph of my last few days as they have been fun ones. Woke up Saturday ready to go and proceeded to just over play the fuck out of my hands preflop and get owned to the tune of 6 BI's. I have slowly pieced it back together and feel every day of playing this game is a learning experience. I need to get back in the zone. If you get a chance watch a Jfish vid from 2's cracked his pace is awesome. I truly enjoy poker when I take my time and make my decisions without rushing myself. I am going to conciously make an effort to think through the better/callers range before I make my action(any action)from now on.

Ship it!

FTP 2/4 6-max be warned, I moved my roll*. Now I am comfortably rolled and will be mostly grinding 2/4. I still havent looked at my results, just hands and hours, it is around 11k and 36 respectively. AEJONES thing is going insanely well. My eyes have been opened. Poker is a numbers game, learn the math and have no tilt.

*I was inspired by LuckySOB and Dodgyken.

Havent looked

I check my session results and that is all. Have yet to look at my totals for the month. i do glance at number of hands played in game notes as well as hours played in sessions. 16 hours so far this month and 5420 hands. Feel my game is growing every session and my eyes are starting to really open up to just how focused and deep thinking a high stakes winner needs to be. Too often I find myself resorting back to my hand strength and not even thinking through my opponents range. The truth of the matter is that should be my 1st thought always. Here are some hands where I dont think. Also one where I do.

Villain is 20/17/4 winning regular. When he raises my cbet we have to stop and put him on a range. It seems like a very marginal spot and as weak as it seems this may be a fold. Curious to see what other do on the flop.

Flop: ($38, 2 players)

Villain is 38/23/1.6 with a flop AF of 5. Again another spot where I think my hand doesnt fair extremely well vs his range. What is our best line vs his range?

Villain is 61/11/5.5, he tended to over bet if weakness was present. I decide to check back my two pair on the flop to induce. When he fires the turn I again decide to extract max value I will flat allowing him to spew on the river. Maybe I should have min raised the river?
